GM: yo yo yo

TR (over the phone): hey, what’s up? Missed capitalization in these first two pieces of dialogue?

GM: Did Medicine come up with a new harvest yet?

TR (phone): Nope. Just asked. Said it would be a few more days till the Assassin of Youth is ready. Says if we started picking now we’d jew ourselves outta hours of bake time.

GM: Shit, I’m on my last joint. Gonna head into the bizank and get 40 to tide us over. You owe me.

TR (phone): Whatev . . .

Panel 4

Description:

A police officer sniffs at the cloud of smoke while passing Green Machine.

Dialogue:

GM: Back in a bit. Have a 20 ready for me when I get there.

TR (phone): What the fuck? Why half? What about Medicine?

GM: Yeah, well, Medicine’s the only one growing anything isn’t he? You just hang around sucking it all up.

TR (phone): whatev . . .

GM: Twenty. See ya in a bit bro.

Panel 5

The police officer walks back and confronts Green. Green looks at the police officer with disdain.

Dialogue:

Officer Harder: Hey! Stop right there! That’s marijuana! Stay right where you are!

Panel 7

Once inside Green Machine gets into line to wait for a teller. The cop is behind him and has drawn his sidearm. People standing in line are looking wide eyed and alarmed at the confrontation.

Dialogue:

Officer Harder: Sir! Get your hands where I can see them!

Panel 8

Description:

Everyone in line in front of Green Machine, including all but one of the tellers, scatters and runs for the exits.

Dialogue:

People: Screams, “Holy shit!”, “Oh my God!”, “Christ!”

Panel 9 All I’m wanting are images!

Description:

Green Machine looks around, shrugs and heads for the last remaining teller. Bank guards have shown up and are pointing weapons at him.

Dialogue:

GM: Hey Janine.

Janine: Hello Mr. Machine. You know, this kind of thing might not happen if you didn’t smoke your joints out in front of the bank.

GM: meh.

Janine: Usual?

GM: Yeah. Wait! No. Better make it $50 this time. Gonna get something to eat on the way home. I’m starving.

Officer Harder: Sir, get down on the ground! Now!

Panel 10

Description:

Profile shot of Green Machine standing on the side of the counter opposite Janine. Green Machine is handing a bank card to Janine. Cops are arrayed behind Green Machine with weapons pointed at his back.

Dialogue:

Officer Harder: Don’t worry mam, just do as he says. We have everything under control.

Panel 11

Description:

Same shot as P10, but Janine is handing cash back to Green Machine. More cops are arriving.

Dialogue:

Janine: How come this happens so often, but you never draw the attention of the military, I never hear about it on the news, and it never escalates beyond a few cops yelling at you to surrender?

GM: Dunno, by the time I get home most of the police force in the city is walking or riding alongside. By the time I get in the apartment they’re gone.

Janine: Don’t you think that’s a little strange? Ha!

GM: I figure they just give up. Never really spent time thinking about it before. I don’t think it really matters. I go home, they go away, nobody gets hurt. Case closed.

Janine: Well, I guess if no one is getting hurt . . . no harm, no foul right? Still, kinda weird.

Police: Get down on the ground! Mam, step away from the window! Sir, get down on your knees immediately or we will be forced to use the taser!

Panel 12

Description:

Green Machine walks away. Several officers shoot tazers at him. He doesn’t seem to notice.

Dialogue:

SFX: Buzzing of live tasers.

Panel 13

Description:

Green Machine leaves the bank with a platoon of officers trailing behind him firing tazers. Some are on radios calling for backup.

Dialogue:

Officers: “We need back up! We need back up!”, “Call in the Guard!”, “Send everything you’ve got!”, “It’s unstoppable!”

Panel 14 – 16

Description:

He walks all the way to the apartment with police firing rubber bullets [14], then tear gas at him [15]. He smashes a patrol car that gets in his way [16].

Dialogue:

Police Officers: [14] Sir! If you do not comply we will be required to use lethal force! [15] Gas him! [16] SFX: Crash! (police) Look out!

Panel 17

Description:

Cops are getting ready to draw pistols. A green glow is enveloping them. They look stunned. Green Machine seems oblivious.

Dialogue:

Police Officers: “Wha-?”, “Guh …”, “hhut …”

Panel 18

Green Machine is entering the apartment building through a side door. The cops, still surrounded by a green glow, are moving away in a daze (wide eyed with tiny bubbles and swirls around their heads).

None

Panel 19

Description:

Green Machine is walking through the door to the Layz Boyz apartment. Medicine Man and The Recliner sit on the couch watching the TV.

Dialogue:

TR: Hey man, went over to Dave’s and got hooked up. You owe me twenty.

MM: What’s up?

Panel 20

Description:

Shot from the alley outside the apartment with Green Machine hanging out the window looking about. He has surprise on his face with surprise lines emanating from his head. The alley is empty. He’s not aware of this power? Do we all have such power when we don’t panic?

GM: Man that is weird. Janine was right…

MM (from inside): Huh? What’s weird?

GM: All the cops that followed me back from the bank.

MM (from inside): What?!

Panel 21

Description:

Same shot from the alley. Medicine Man can now be seen where Green Machine was, looking out the window. He has a puzzled look on his face. One of his eyebrows is raised.

MM: What are you talking about? There aren’t any cops down there . . .

GM (from inside): That’s what I mean. There must have been a hundred baconators out there a minute ago. Aannnd now they’re gone. Weird.

MM: How much have you had to smoke today?

GM: Just the one joint – when I called The Recliner from out in front of the bank.

Panel 22

Description:

Same as P21 but Medicine Man has his head down and his hand over his eyes.

Dialogue:

MM: … Jesus…

GM: What?

MM: Nevermind. I hope that’s not a common occurrence.

GM: … uh…

Panel 23

Description:

This shot is a close up of The Recliner’s face. He is wearing a sly, conciliatory look.

Dialogue:

None
